Changing Your Password via Your Recorder

Retrieving your device ID

1.Retrieve your recorder’s Device ID. You can locate the Device ID in the following ways:
 On the side panel of your recorder, alongside the Device ID’s QR Code.
 In your recorder’s system, right-click then click Info.
 In the Lorex Cloud app, go to  > Device Info.

2.Once you have the Device ID at hand, please take a picture of the Device Info screen and the sticker with the serial number and model number found on unit. Refer to How to Reset Your NVR or DVR’s Password to obtain a temporary password so that you can access your recorder and reset the password.

Changing or Resetting Your Recorder’s Password

Note: When resetting your password, use the temporary password sent to you. The temporary password is valid until the end of the day. If you haven’t received a temporary password yet, refer to “How to Reset Your NVR or DVR’s Password“.

1.From the Live View display, right-click to open the Quick Menu, then click Main Menu.
2.Click ACCOUNT, then the User tab from the side panel.
3.Click draw icon next to the account you want to change the password for.

4.Configure the following:
 Username: Set to admin.
 Modify Password: Check to modify password.
 Old Password: Enter the current/reset password.
 New Password: Enter the new password you want to use for the system.
 Confirm Password: Re-enter the new password.

Note: Passwords for the system must be a minimum of 8 characters, and must include at least 2 of the following character types: lowercase, uppercase, numeric, and special characters.

5.Click OK.

1.Launch the Lorex app and log in to your account.
2.Tap settings icon above your recorder’s thumbnail.
3.Tap the Device Settings icon (•••) at the top right of the screen.
4.Tap Device Info > Device Password.

5.Input your current password in the Old Password field, followed by your New Password.

Note: Ensure your recorder’s new password is between 8 to 32 characters and includes at least 2 character types: lowercase, uppercase, numeric, and special characters.

6.Tap Save.

Your recorder’s new password is now ready for use during login.

Changing Your Password via the Lorex Cirrus App

Note: You cannot reset your password with the Lorex Cirrus App. To reset your password, you must use your recorder. The following instructions explain how to change your recorder’s password from the Lorex Cirrus App.

1.Tap the settings icon icon in the top left corner of the Lorex Cirrus app.
2.Select Devices.
3.Tap Edit under your desired recorder.
4.Tap Change Password.
5.Fill in the required fields as follows:
 Old Password: Input your old password.
 New Password: Enter your new, secure password.
 Confirm the new password: Enter your new, secure password.
7.Tap Save. Your password has now been changed!

Changing Your Password via Your Recorder

Note: When resetting your password, use the temporary password sent to you. The temporary password is valid until the end of the day. If you haven’t received a temporary password yet, refer to “How to Reset Your NVR or DVR’s Password“.

Resetting your Password

1.Login to your system using the reset password.
2.From the Live View screen, click > main menu icon  > User.
3.From the list of accounts, find the row for the account you want to update and click notepad icon 36w36h

4.Click the field next to User Name to change the user name for the selected account.
5.Click the field next to Password to enter a new password.
6.Click the field next to Confirm to re-enter the password.
7.Click Save.

This password will be used to connect to your system from now on.

Resetting Your Password (LHA / LNK Series)

1.Login to your system using the reset password.
2.In the Main Menu, press Users under the System tab.
3.Go to the user admin name that you want to modify the password for.
4.Click Edit to pop up the User Edit window.

5.Enter your new system password.
6.Re-enter your new system password.
7.Click Save.

This password will be used to connect to your system from now on.

Record your password and store it in a secure place.

Changing Your Password via the Lorex Pro App

Note: You cannot reset your password with the Lorex Pro App. To reset your password, you must use your recorder. The following instructions explain how to change your recorder’s password from the Lorex Pro App.

1.Tap the ellipses () above your desired recorder in the top right corner of the app.
2.Tap Device Settings.
3.Tap writing icon in the top right corner of the Device Settings page.
4.Tap Modify Device Password.
5.Fill in the required fields as follows:
 Old Password: Your old password
 New Password: Your new password
 Confirm the new password: Your new password
6.Tap Save.
7.Record your password and store it in a secure place.

Please note that your Lorex Account and Lorex App account email and passwords are the same. Changing one will automatically change the other.

There are two ways to reset your Lorex App password:

Method 1: App

Request a temporary password from the website to reset your recorder’s password:

 Visit the Lorex Website.
 Navigate to “My Account.”
 After logging in, select “My Account” and then “Warranty.”

2. Register Your Warranty:

 Click on “Activate Warranty.”
 Complete the required fields:

Model Number
Serial Number (S/N)
Date of Purchase
Upload Bill of Sale

4. Use Your Temporary Password:

 After requesting a device password reset, you will get an email with a ticket number.
 A follow-up email will provide you with a temporary password and a link to guide you through changing your recorder’s password.

How to Locate Your Recorder’s System Information

To complete the temporary password request form on the website, please gather the following information:

System Date: Located in the top-right corner of the screen once the recorder is powered on.

Device ID: Located on the QR code sticker attached to the outside of your recorder.

Once you have the Device ID at hand, please take a picture of the Device Info screen and the sticker with the serial number found on the unit.

How to Reset Your Smart Home ‘s Password

To ensure your privacy and prevent any unauthorized attempts to gain access to your camera, there is no way to reset your smart home camera’s password. The camera will have to be reset to its factory default.

 

How to restart or factory reset your IoT Device:

 Locate the Reset Button on the device (the location of the button differs on each camera – please see model documentation).
 Press the reset button for 10 seconds – in most cases you will hear a chime sound and see a flashing green light when the process is complete.

How to Reset Your ‘s Password

If you have forgotten the password to one of your IP security cameras, you will either need to reset the camera manually. Please see your camera’s documentation to see if there is a reset button.

Reset Button:

If your IP Camera includes a reset button, you can hold the button down to revert it to its default setting. This will allow you to set up the camera again through your NVR with a new password.

We recommend using strong passwords for the Lorex App app and all cameras connected to it, and changing them on a regular basis.

How to change device password

Here’s how to change the password of your camera.

Step 1. Launch the Lorex App app, and tap Device Settings.

Step 1. Launch the Lorex App app, then tap Account at the bottom of the screen.

How to enable or disable fingerprint login

If your smartphone supports fingerprint login, you can use it to sign in to your Lorex App.

Step 1. Launch the Lorex App app, then tap Account at the bottom of the screen.
