How to Install SmartPSS v2, SmartPSS configuration makes it an easy-to-use tool for managing the monitoring system. Easy search allows you to quickly find devices on the network and add them to the program. After adding devices, we gain access to the configuration of such parameters as network settings, video and audio settings, and of course, live view and Smart Track playback.
SmartPSS allows you to connect a fisheye camera or a fixed camera with a PTZ speed dome camera for enhanced monitoring capabilities. The application allows the operator to define a smart principle (line crossing, zone, etc.) on fixed cameras and connect them with the PTZ camera movement, trigger the alarm and track the object.
Support for Fisheye cameras:
SmartPSS offers full support for BCS Line fisheye cameras. The application supports camera mounting options and 8 dewarping modes. Dewarping solves the problems of image distortions in panoramic view of half-sphere both in live view and playback
Smart Search:
Smart Search allows the operator during playback to determine the zone in which motion detection will be searched, which saves time
Intelligent IVS video functions:
SmartPSS displays all intelligent functions implemented for BCS Line IP cameras. IVS is an analysis algorithm that allows operation of such functions as Line violation, zone violation, leaving / appearance of an object. In addition, SmartPSS also supports face detection.
Intelligent business image analysis:
SmartPSS support for functions such as counting people and heat maps; advanced features that will add business analysis capabilities to the monitoring system. Intelligent analysis tracks and stores data on the daily, weekly, monthly and annual flow of people in the designated area. SmartPSS has access to this data and enables searching, playing recordings and creating reports.
Video Wall:
SmartPSS allows you to set and operate a video wall (Video Wall). This allows you to set the appearance of the wall, live view, wall layout settings and preview route settings.

2. Go to downloads and select the SmartPSS file.
3. Highlight SmartPSS ➞ Right Click and a sub menu will show ➞ Click on Open.
4. The MAC OSx security will block the installation of the “SmartPSS_Beta” software.
5. Go to the “System Preferences” option, “General” and you will see at the bottom the option to “Open Anyway”.
6. After downloading the “SmartPSS” software move it from the download folder to the application folder.
7. Double click on the software to start the installation.
8. You will get this message when the installation is successful.
9. Double click on the “SmartPSS” icon. Setup a password.
10. Add a device.
11. Allow incoming network connections.
12. Congratulations, Software installed.
How To Install SmartPSS on Mac M1 Chip

2. Now go to your MAC settings and click on Security and Privacy
3. A pop up will come up, click on Open
4. SmartPSS will then be extracted to your desktop. Do not open SmartPSS on the desktop. Drag SmartPSS to the Application Folder by opening Finder.
5. You can now open SmartPSS and enter a new password.
6. Enter security questions and answers in case the password is forgotten.

Installing SmartPSS for a Non-Administrator Account
1. First step is to install SmartPSS using an admin account in Windows. After SmartPSS was installed under the admin, you can then logged out of the admin, and log into a “standard user” account that will be using SmartPSS without admin credentials. All the steps below were done using the “standard user” account, but the first time you run the shortcut, you will need to know the admin credentials.
2. First, we need to make a manual shortcut for SmartPSS so we can add our syntax. Right click on the desktop, choose new and then choose shortcut.
3. You will get a screen that asks you to choose the file location. Click on the browse button and then navigate to the SmartPSS.exe. The default location is C:\Program Files\Smart Professional Surveillance System\SmartPSS\SmartPSS.exe. Once you locate the file, click ok.
4. Once you navigate to the file and click ok, it will add the location in the location bar.
5. Now you want to take the example syntax and modify it to match your computer name and username. As an example our computer name is DahuaCan and our admin account username is admin. So in the next screenshot you can see we modified the syntax to include our computer name and username. Now you want to add that syntax to the beginning of the location. After you fill that in like the screenshot below and click next, give your Shortcut a name. I called ours SmartPSS as Admin.
6. Now you want to double click on the new SmartPSS shortcut, and you will get a command line pop up. All you need to do is type in the password for the main Admin account. Of note, when you type in the password the line does not move and there is no indication that you are typing anything into the command prompt, this is normal. Make sure to type it in carefully and then click enter.
7. After you click Enter, it should then run SmartPSS using those admin credentials. Those credentials are now saved, so even if you close SmartPSS, even if you log out of the user account or reboot the computer, you can just click on the shortcut on the desktop and it will always use the credentials you already provided it. Your shortcut should now be good to go for that user. If you want to know how to change the shortcut icon, you can continue onto the following steps.

8. Right click the shortcut, then choose change icon like in the screenshots below. It may give you an error about no icons being available. Just click ok. Now navigate your way to the SmartPSS folder again, choose the SmartPSS executable. Now on the next screen it will give you the SmartPSS icon. Choose it and click ok. Now your shortcut will have the proper icon.
